Taryn Skrevet 16. juni 2007 #1 Skrevet 16. juni 2007 Hi All, I was told about this site today... took me about 30 minutes to find the english part!! (My Norwegian is not that good!) I moved here 2 months ago and was hoping to find work (my husband is working) but can't get a spot for my daughter in Barnehage. (along with 400 others in my Bydel!) Just wanted to know what your thoughts on dagmammas and how would I find a good one that speaks fluent Norwegian and doesn;t take too many kids!, how do you know that you can trust them with your kids, what should you pay etc?? Some I have seen at the open barnehage I have been less than impressed with! The other option I have been told about is becoming one myself.... I do like this idea but have no idea how to start! Is anyone one, or knows how to become one? I really enjoy being at home with my daughter (1 year old), we play, go to Open Barnehage, sing and dance (table dancing when you can;t walk is so funny!), go walking etc, and I am really looking forward to when we can paint, play with playdoh, do craft and cook!! I don't miss 'work' at all (Although I am much busier now!) I would only like to take on one other child (maybe 2??) of a similar age to my daughter. So if anyone knows what I have to do let me know! Such things as: Where do you put them when they need to sleep? How much to you charge? What do you provide? How do you find the child? Pretty much how it works!! Thanks
Anonym bruker Skrevet 17. juni 2007 #2 Skrevet 17. juni 2007 I used to have a home daycare, and it worked fine! I took one infant, and then I had 2 toddlers (all girls) My own son was very active when he was little, and I found that girls was a lot easier to handle. It just turned out to be just girls, so it was not that I asked for girls when I offered my daycare service in the community. =o) It worked out great for me and my family. "Anbefales"!! Good luck to you :-)
Sinah Skrevet 17. juni 2007 #3 Skrevet 17. juni 2007 There are some web-sites where you can advertise (google "dagmamma"), or you could advertise here (dagmamma øst) or put up posters. If you are anywhere in Groruddalen, I would love to have an English-speaking "dagmamma" :0), as we're trying to raise him bilingually.

FaSyl Skrevet 5. januar 2008 #5 Skrevet 5. januar 2008 Hi Taryn, Did you ever decided to become a dagmamma? We just relocated in Oslo and are looking for an English dagmamma for our 18 months-old daughter. We speak to her in French at home, but she has always been going to day care in English since she was born, as we lived in the USA for 5 years. We really would like her to keep her English knowledge and I would like to begin working here. Thanks for answering me, [email protected] Sylvie
