Hi! I'm from Belgium, so not a native english speaker too...

We just moved here on the 17th of May (was unintentional, but fun! ;-)), my husband's norwegian, and we have a little boy of 16 months. And one on the way...!

We don't exactely live in Bergen, but in the neighbouring kommune of Samnanger (which is Bergen according to some ...) about 40 min away. And my norwegian... well... I'm learning. That's why I ended up here, pregnant and wanting to read norwegian... And now on a english thread... Hmmm... Not so good for my norwegian, but hey! ;-D

Well, thanks a lot!! And the beer is is pretty good... :-D Although there is not that bad a selection in vinmonopolet, I do miss the beer... Not that I can drink now, but... :-)

I was just wondering something... I called the jormor on monday saying I tested positive the day before, and she gave me an appointement for the 3rd of July. Is this normal that you should wait so long? With my first, in Belgium, the doctor took blood straight away to check on toxoplasmoses, etc... and to have the hcg levels (preg hormones)... An I started seeing my jormor almost straight away. And do they take lots of echos?

-Sorry 'bout this, no one else to ask really, my husband doesn't know and my mother in law doesn't speak english (and with my limited norwegian... I don't even want to think about how I'm going to explain all that!!)

Usually you have your first appointment with jormor/doctor in pregnancyweek 8-12, and then the next thing to happen will be the ultrasound in week 18.

After that it's in week 24, and every 4 weeks from that.

You can choose where you want to have your appointments, jordmor/doctor/gynecologist. And everything is free.

I live in Bergen too, I'm Norwegian.

How far along are you?

We have had a bit of trouble with our internet connection, but In hope there is still someone out here... :-)

I've got an appointement with the jormor in half an hour, and I'll be 8 weeks pregnant on friday. It's so funny that everything is free, unbelievable!! I went to the helsesøster (?) last week for shots for my son, and she laughed her head off when I took out my wallet! These are the more important details my husband forgets to tell me about... :-D

It seems a bit late to do the echo on 18 weeks, no? I've had a "internal" one at 10 weeks I think... How else do they check the heartbeat and so?

Oh well, all will be revieled soon, and when in Rome, or Norway... :-)
