what are the best and worst things about norway?

I`m amazed by how many of you complaning about how rude norwegians are. And you have so much bad things too say about the country. If you dont like it here, you have a choice. No wonder people are rude when you all say these negative things...

In my opinion, and many who told me ' Norwegians are very shy people'. I reckon this statement has it's truth but it is rather annoying when they sometimes make use of their shyness as an excuse not to put in effect in certain situation around them. If you know what I meant.

Also, the thread IS about the "best and worst of Norway," so obviously some negative impressions are going to appear. Most of it isn't surprising and has to do with economic or social structures being different than in peoples' home countries.

Meny has good selection for a Norgy grocery store, but they're also one of the most expensive. If you want to try to reduce your grocery budget a bit, you could try to find a LARGE Rema1000 (not the small ones you find in the city centres). Larger ICA stores are also usually ok, although closer to the Meny price range.

 

Most of the "staple" items like grain products, dairy, and meat, come from a few major corporations anyway, so frequently the only "choice" you get is which condiments you're getting

BEST

 

Norway has the best overall quality of life in the world, especially for families. Best healthcare, welfare, work/life balance, nature, active and sporty attitudes, lovely seasonal traditions, etc, etc, the list goes on.

 

WORST

 

Norwegians know the above to be true and pathologically tend toward smugness and superiority. :-)
