Hi, I`m a Norwegian woman married to an English man who lives in Kristiansand. We are expecting a baby this summer and I wondered if there where any other from England with babies here in Kristiansand. My husband struggle a bit with Norwegian and it would be great to get in contact with other English speaking people. Hope there is a couple or more here in Kristiansand that could drop me a line.

Hi there, I'm turning 38 in November and my husband will be 43 in August. We have a son who will be 12 in July, son number two who will be 2 in July, and boy/girl twins who are soon 3 months old. Nice to have some words of advice from an experienced mother of twins ;)

I guess you have much to do these days. It is much when you have 2 at the same time. And you have a son at nearly 2. You have busy days, I guess. Nice to hear from you. I also have a son that will be 14 in July. He loves and plays football, by the way. If it is anything, just drop me a line. Hope you are doing ok in Norway, and like it here. My husband will start working soon, so that will make things easier. It is not easy coming to a new country and have no work.

Hi, yes- we are quite busy for the time being. My son is also involved in football, my husband was also up until the twins were born. Needless to say I needed him home more than 2 nights a week ;) What team does your son/husband support? Perhaps they have this in common.

Good that your husband found a job here in Norway, I found it wasn't so easy to find work and had to pendle to Egersund for two years as there was just no work here in the Kristiansand area. Where did your hubby finally find work? What is it that he/you do professionally? I actually plan on returning to work in August/September as the company that I work for is in desperate need of manpower. My husband then can take those days home with the twins as the 2 year old has full barnehageplass.

I think the most difficult things with the twins for the time being is just logistics. How to get the kids from point A to point B. Upstairs and downstairs requires double trips as I just cannot carry both at the same time. We have gates at every stop almost here due to the 2 year old so I need one hand free at all times just to get down the stairs.

Has your husband begun a norskkurs in K'sand?

My son plays for Start, and he support Start and Liverpool. My husband and I support Ipswich. Yes, it is unusual, but it was at a footballmatch in England I met him! An awaygame for Ipswich against Gillingham. Love at first sight!

My husband is a Paramedic. It has been a hard time, since he has to speak to pasients in Norwegian. He has taken norskkurs for 1 year, at Voksenopplæringen på Lund. He took test in February and passed. So he is happy for that. But the most important thing is that he now can start working because he can understand more Norwegian. It is still difficult, but you have to start somewhere.

Yes, twins is much. Everything is double. I can remember it wasn`t so much time off. So I can understand you need your husband at home. My husband like to play football too, but he hasn`t been playing here.

I remember when one of the twins where crying, I had to hold the other one as well, because both wantet to be in my arms at the same time, and had the same needs at the same time. So it was many times I had one twin in each arm. Lets say I didn`t have to go training at the Gym!:)

My son plays for Vindbjarts which is the local club here. Oddly enough my husband was a paramedic here when we met however it was a part time job (he worked also full time at the local factory) and gave up the paramedic job when we moved here. I also have close friends who are paramedics (Kristiansand).

If you're interested in getting together the family (sounds like we may have much in common) send an email to [email protected]

We have just on 1st of May had a dobbeldåp so now that it's over, I can relax for a while and enjoy the beautiful weather we have been having in sørlandet.

Hilsen,

Janet
