goldielocks Skrevet 21. januar 2007 #1 Skrevet 21. januar 2007 What do you think? my samboer likes the name alot, thinks its simple. i like it too but am a bit worried coming from scotland where its mostly a girls name! We do know a male here called kim. help! what do you think? would it suit a girl better?
Keiko&Sivert Nikolai<3 Skrevet 21. januar 2007 #2 Skrevet 21. januar 2007 I think Kim is a name that woul suit a boy! I know plenty of boys named Kim, and only one girl. I'm from Norway:)
Anonym bruker Skrevet 21. januar 2007 #3 Skrevet 21. januar 2007 Kim is definitely a boy's name in my book, but beware before you name your baby that - statistically Kim is associated with "losers", and I can confirm that. Of all the Kims I have taught or met, 90% of them end up that way. I guess low income/low education - households take a liking to Kim, Kenneth, Ronny, Roger, Andrè, Renè and Kai for example.
Leo's mum is doing fine :o) Skrevet 22. januar 2007 #4 Skrevet 22. januar 2007 My samboer is called Kim erik, and he is definatly not a looser he is a good looking, hard working guy who is a good dad! Its a cute name too )
Månestråle85 Skrevet 23. januar 2007 #5 Skrevet 23. januar 2007 I think it sounds great on both. My childhood sweethearts name is Kim, so I always though of it as a boys name, but then my norwegian uncle and philipino auntie named their baby girl kim. Now I think it is even lovlier on a girl! (Her middle name ia Marie, to make it "girlier", but we never use it, becuase we don't associate the name with a boy anymore).
Anonym bruker Skrevet 23. januar 2007 #6 Skrevet 23. januar 2007 It is a boys name in Norway but I would pick a name that works well in both countries.

lilja70 Skrevet 27. januar 2007 #8 Skrevet 27. januar 2007 Even though I know several Norwegian males called Kim (all of them has higher education, university level btw), it will allways be a girls name for me, my best US-friend is called Kim (Kimberly).
Leo's mum is doing fine :o) Skrevet 1. februar 2007 #10 Skrevet 1. februar 2007 I guess it depends on who you are and what circles you hang around in
Kanskje snart? *igang igjen * Skrevet 1. februar 2007 #11 Skrevet 1. februar 2007 Kim to me is a boys name.. Girls I know called Kim , have it short for Kimberly or something..I am sure he will be fine
Anonym bruker Skrevet 1. mars 2007 #12 Skrevet 1. mars 2007 Kim is very femmy in America. I would not choose it for a boy.
mamamaria Skrevet 22. mai 2007 #13 Skrevet 22. mai 2007 I see this is an 'old' message, but who cares ;-)) In my opinion (as a foreigner) Kim is a girls name... even though, after 12 years in Norway I've got used to Kim being a boys name. But, I would never name my son Kim, cause my family would think that was quite 'weird' ;-)) The same goes for Inge, which is a girlsname to me, but a boys name in Norway. I think it's important to think 'bilangual' when you are a foreigner, and have family in another country. Who knows if you'll ever return? We gave our kids Norwegian names (since we have this hard foreign last name ;-) ), but we did think of pronounciation in the country our families are from.
