International name for a boy, starting with A and L

Can anyone help us with a good, strong name for a boy, starting with A and L? Preferably one that is pronounced almost the same in English (American) and Norwegian... So far we have:

We need the names to start with A and L, because it is a tradition that the boys in the family have the same initials, ALE.

I really like August and Aksel (both on our list at times). Other possibilities:

Ambrosius (hehehe - actually my great grandfather's name, but a bit much these days probably)

 

Generally I prefer singel names, and find that a lot of double names sound forced, but it is hard to argue with family tradition.

We are an American - Norwegian family, and our two boys are named Alexander and Andreas. The in-laws "over there" strongly disagreed with the name Andreas in the beginning, but they grew to love it

Good luck finding a name, I know it´s not easy!

If we ever have another boy, he´ll probably end up with a girls´name, ha ha!
