LRMG Skrevet 31. desember 2006 #1 Skrevet 31. desember 2006 Hi, I got pregnant a bit sooner than expected. I would like to do the different tests you can do to check that the baby is healthy. However, I am in Tucson, Arizona from week 10 to week 14 (or wekk 11-5, depending on how you count). As far as I know, the US health system is very advanced if you can afford to pay for it. Do you know if I can get these tests as a Norwegian citizen with an ordinary travel health insurance? And what kind of tests can they provide? I would very much like to take the Down's Syndrome test, and also look for other kinds of anomalies on the scan.
partyoffive Skrevet 31. desember 2006 #2 Skrevet 31. desember 2006 Hei, Iahve gone through 2 pregnancies here in the US. I don't know the answers to your insurance questions, however, I just wanted to say that the tests that you are refering to for Down Syndrome has certain risks. Make sure to discuss this in detail with your OBGYN before you chose to do it. I know they are ususally offered to women over 35 or women who's medical history might put them at risk for having babies w/down syndrome. But I also know that many of these women still decide against this test bc it's potentiall risks...make sure you know all your info. Anyone else who has advice/info. o this one? Good luck w/your pregnancy whatever you choose to do. Godt Nyttår!!!!
