just miscarried and need help, urgent!

Today i was told by a gynecologist that my doctor sent me that the baby's development stopped at 6 weeks (i am 9 weeks). I am told to wait for another week and they will give me medication to trigger abort. I somehow did not receive any good vibes from that particular doctor in neither of my visits so i really am lost in to trust him. I want to find out what my options are for "miscarriage process" if it does not start naturally. I would rather have a surgical interference to make sure that everything is clear rather than have it aborted in a painful process and then not be sure if it was complete abort or not. I am upset and confused, i really hope someone can help me into this. I've been living in Norway for only a year and i have a difficulty understanding the system or receive any sincerely helpful information from particularly that doctor.

I'm not really sure what you can do about it. I think I'd call my doctor and ask him if I could have the surgery. If he said no I'd contact "helsestasjonen" and talk to a midwife. They are familiar with the law, and from personal experience, they are much more sympathetic than the doctors!

But do so before the week is up!

I had blighted ovum (the baby died early but the body keep developing like you are still pregnant). My english doesn't really cover this gynecological words, but I hope you still understand. The left overs was removed at the hospital by scraping it out. They will not do it like a ceaser-cut!!

But this still provoked a lot of pain and bleeding for a week after. So if I was you I wouldn't hesitate to take the pill you are offered. It might be painful, but so is the other option to. And with the pill it is less danger for infections afterwards.

i consulted my doctor today and told her what happened. She called another gynecologist at the hospital to consult only to find out that medication process was not really preferred and they were surprised over this particular doctor's decision. i don't judge him for his decision but i still am angry at him for his arrogant manner. He did not go through the trouble to give me any explanations at all and just almost ordered me what the next step would be. I am given an appointment from the hospital tomorrow and somehow i feel more relieved. thank you for the reply. hugs.

i have exactly the same situation myself and i am very sorry to hear about what you've been through. i will be at another doctor tomorrow and somehow that relieves me. Hopefully i will receive more information regarding the pros and cons of the process. Thank you soo soo very much for sharing your experience with me.

If you end up going for the medication to trigger an abortion, I strongly recommend to ask for an extra ultrasound to check that the abortion was complete. I ended up with surgery after I had a medical abortion after a miscarriage. None of the options are extremely painful, but ask for painkillers if you`re worried about the pain. And you are free to choose a new doctor if you`re comfortable with the one you`ve got.
