Gjest Skrevet 8. september 2006 #2 Skrevet 8. september 2006 You know what, we may have the same problem Our little girl will be 3 years old 3 days after the due date, so I was hoping that bubs will come about a week earlier or after, giving my eldest her special day... But if bubs comes very early or late, we would need to get her a gift then also (she hasn't got a good concept of time and waiting . I have bought a doll version of a baby bjõrn baby carrier for her cabbage patch kid to go towards her birthday, but have thought about using that if bubs comes too early or late. For a 5 year old though... it depends on what she's interested in I guess. May be a new doll, or something towards a doll she already has? Things to occupy her time a little more at home, like beads, or craft things? A friend of mine bought a doll that you can feed and change nappies on, plus a few accessories for her 6 year old (her daughter is very much into babies and dolls though).
money9876 Skrevet 8. september 2006 Forfatter #3 Skrevet 8. september 2006 My daughter was exactly 3 when my baby boy was born. We bought her a huge jigsaw puzzle and that entertained her for ages. She wasn't into dolls at all, but since having a baby brother, has become very interested in feeding her teddies milk and grøt!!! I had said to my daughter that the new baby would come around the time of her birthday - that gave her something to focus on. I must ask the mother of the 5 year old why she's into, as otherwise I'll probably get it very wrong. Children are so fickle at that age... Thanks for your help:-)
