what outerwear for babies in winter???

My baby boy will be 8-11 months old this winter. I wonder what outerwear to buy for him - should I buy a full-on ReimaTec suit that's water and windproof and costing 1000NOK? or should I buy a Cubus-type snowsuit that's padded but not waterproof? or should I buy just a fleece all-in-one (he will probably be in a sheepskin in the pushcahir)?

My first was born at the end of October a few years back, and we just used a Cubus type snow suit (fleece lined), with wollen underwear underneath and may be a layer of 'normal' clothing inbetween. She was also laying on sheepskin in a pushchair, and had a quilt on top. She also wore a wollen 'finlands hat', plus the fleece hood that was a part of the cubus suit. She was never too warm or too cold, but it is very individual from child to child (and where you're living in Norway, this was fine for Oslo:) We didn't buy a reima suit for her until she was crawling, before that point it wasn't really necessary.

Well you sholdn't spend that much money on a ReimaTes suit. If you want a full wind/water proof suit, you can always buy a used one. if you go on

www.finn.no then go into Torget, barn og utstyr, you'll find everything there=)

But since your son will only be 8-11months old, then i would suggest a noraml padded snow suit =) If you wait abit, you'll also get the real snowsuites at Cubus. Untill your baby is 2 years old they need extra clothes on, so wool underwear (long johns/vest), noraml clothes, and when your gonna go out, put an extra pear of socks on (thick ones!), shoes that are padded with wool inside at the snowsuit=) then you'll have one nice warm baby ;P

P.S dont forget a good hat/scarf/gloves!
