kindergarten in Norway

Hi, can you, please, tell me about kindergartens and nursery school system in Norway? From what age kids start to attend them (joungest possible/allowed age) does they stay there all day or only a part? and ...... enything )

In kindergarden I know of babies as young as 6 months old. I dont know if all kindergardens have this offer. There are different groups of kids in kindergarden, divided by age. And most kids are going to kindergarden until they are going to school (6 years old). It is the parents who decide how much time the children spend in kinderg. If you have got 100% kindergarden time, you can leave your kids there for aproximately 9 hours pr dar. Usually it opens at 7 am and closes at 5 pm. If you dont want your child to be there an entire day, its best if the child at least is there from 9,30 am to 2 pm, because in that time the kindergarden often have planned a particular program for the day. But this is a little different from one kinderg. to another kinderg. The staff is usually very nice and tries to adjust to what the parents want/need.
