Anonym bruker Skrevet 24. mai 2010 #1 Skrevet 24. mai 2010 Anyone have any experience moving to Norway and becoming authorized? We are looking into moving back from the US and my husband is a nurse. We have tried to contact the people who deal with licensing and authorizations, however they are very very vague. If you have been in the same situation, was there a lot of clinical time to make up in Norway? As far as we understand he can become licensed pretty easy, is this all that is needed to get a job? Then he has 2 years to become authorized. Thanks
shari_z Skrevet 24. mai 2010 #2 Skrevet 24. mai 2010 Has your husband got a 4 yr bachelor in nursing? if so, I can't imagine that it should be such a huge problem. If he only has a 2 yr associate, then I think there could be issues. My husband took his nursing in England (finished in 1999) and didnt have any difficulties getting his license to work here. His degree was a 3 yr degree. Good luck! Our current problem is the opposite of yours: we want to move to the US, and my husband is going nuts with all the hoops he has to jump through in order to become an RN over there.
irishlassie Skrevet 31. mai 2010 #3 Skrevet 31. mai 2010 I have recently moved to Norway, I am a nurse and got my authorisation. I have a higher diploma in Nursing with 2 years experience. What you need to send are true copies of your documents, you can get this at photocopy shops. What your husbands needs to send is: Application form with: True photocopy of Nursing Certificate, passport, birth cert, documentation from his last place of work stating amount of experience. It takes about a month or so to get it process but will be delayed if they require more info and documents.
