Prenatal course in Oslo

Hi everyone,

 

I'm due in two months (17th May, would you believe) and haven't been able to find out much about prenatal courses in Oslo, or Norway at all for that matter.

 

I'm booked in to deliver at Bærum, but all they offer there is a two evening course and it doesn't seem like it covers anything more than just how they do things there and a tour of the facilities.

 

Does anyone know whether there is such a thing as prenatal or birthing courses here in Oslo?

Hi there, this info may be a bit late for you, but could be of use for others - we took a lamaze course in Oslo that was a weekend course, and we were very happy with it. The class is for couples, and covers everything about the birthing process, plus breathing techniques. The teacher is an American who has lived in Norway for over 20 years, and she teaches the class both in Norwegian and English (she has seperate classes for English speakers). I can highly recommend the class to all first time parents, both my husband and I found the class highly informative and are now looking forward to giving birth! Sorry don't have any advice about prenatal courses in Oslo but I am also due 17th May and booked in at Sandvika hospital. Im not sure that they have 'birthing courses' as I had with my son (now 4 and was born in UK). Feel free to get in touch though, always happy to make new friends! Nicola

I only just read your reply (haven't been online much lately for some reason... hehe). I was at Bærum hospital as well, and was in labour on the 17th, but gave birth in the wee hours of the 18th. How about you?
