English speaking moms in Trondheim?...

Hi,

I just moved to Trondheim and started to learn Norwegian but it is still very basic... I am a bit bored at home and would like to meet moms in the area for coffee and some chit chat time.

I am living in sentrum but do not have a car, anybody in the area?

I have a 3 years old son who stays home with me (could not find a room in barnehage yet, he will start in August) so if you know any kids friendly places in Trondheim, let me know as well. I am also expecting a baby boy for early June.

Hope to meet new people soon.

Hi,

I've been living in Trondheim for 5 years now, originally from Canada. I have a four year old daughter, but she is in barnehage during the week. We are expecting our second in ca 4 days :) If you want to meet for coffee, let me know. Trying to stay busy these last few days before the baby comes!

I'm not english speaking myself, but I have previously lived in England for 7 years. My husband is English and I have two kids, a 3 year old girl and a 6 month old baby. We are trying to teach them English, however there are few oportunities for them to talk to other English speaking childeren. Would any of you be interested in meeting up with the kids ?? My daughter understands most of what is said I think, but rarly speaks English herself, it would be good for her to hear other childeren that speaks English.

One more thing, about kid friendly places... Have you tried going to open barnehage ? I did this for a while, its usually a couple of mornings each week. It's a good place to meet other mums and good for the kids to interact and play. There are many different kindergardens that offer this, look at the website for the Trondheim council (Trondheim kommune)

Hi Annie,

Thanks for the info on the open barnehage.

We should try to meet with the kids, unfortunately my son speaks mainly French... (we are originally from there) he was born in the US and went to childcare there but since we came back he stops speaking English... he still understands it though but usually reply in French.

But we should try anyway, that may force him to speak English and a good training before he goes to international school in August (hopefully...)

send me an email to [email protected], if you are interested in meeting.

have a great day.

Bonjour Bonjour :)

Well I am an english-french-norwegian mom-to-be, so if you want some help around Trondheim and have a chat some time, feel free to tell me; I'd be more than delighted.

I've been living in Trondheim for about 5 years, and married to a viking ^^

Let's hope we can all have a small meeting when the weather calms down and we can truely appreciate the beauty of Trondheim in the spring.

Sorry but I am so upset at this neverending winter, I just want some grass and sun!! :D

Hi Domitille,

a meeting would be great!

Do you think spring will show up one day... I was hoping last week when everything had melted away and here we go with a foot of snow...

oh well, we just have to be patient, I guess...

Hope your pregnancy is going great.

Let me know when you are up for a meeting.

Have a nice day.
