mcarmen Skrevet 8. januar 2010 #1 Skrevet 8. januar 2010 I will like to know about some international moms group in Oslo. We will move on February with our three years old daughter from New York and will be great to meet other moms with English speaking kids.
Mirela Skrevet 1. februar 2010 #2 Skrevet 1. februar 2010 Hi, I am Australian and my husband is British and is working in Oslo. I am not there just yet but will arrive in couple of months or so. I have 1 year old son and would love to meet some other mums too. Not sure that there is any international groups in Oslo. It seems to me lots of people meet this way. If you are interested let me know and we can arrange to meet up. Happy move! Mirela
shari_z Skrevet 3. februar 2010 #3 Skrevet 3. februar 2010 There is a group that meets at Høvik church just outside Oslo (west side, right on E-18). They meet Wednesdays from 0930-1200, and seem to remember there was a nominal fee (maybe 50-60 kroner??). It's for children ages 0-4. I have not been there myself, it's a bit too far for me to drive from Drammen, but have heard from another recently-moved-to-Norway mommy that it is a lovely group. If you go to www.accn.no, the American Coordinating Council of Norway, they have a guide they distribute each year (tons of them at the Fourth of July Celebration at Frogner Park) which you can download that tells about various activities available for (American) expats. It's a super way to get to know Oslo for English-speaking expats particularly, but all immigrants. Somewhere in the back is the Resource Guide, which gives you tons of information. Remember, this is a guide put out by Americans, so much of the information is aimed towards them, but applies to many other English-speaking people.
