New Doula in Bergen

Hello,

 

I've recently arrived in Bergen (3 weeks now - had been living in Scotland since 2001) and plan to work as a doula. I know it a very new concept in Norway and there are few doulas. Most of them are concentrated in Oslo. We lived in Norway 8 years ago and I did learn Norwegian but have mostly forgotten it - so need to relearn. I hope to start my work as doula by supporting English speaking couples or Norwegians who are happy to communicate in English to start me off.

 

What is the best way to get to know (and known) by the English speaking community? I have two children a 16 year old and a 3 year old and we live in Nesttun. Would love to meet up with people and hear about their birth experiences in Bergen, or just to chat .
