I'm American, and my Norwegian husband and I are expecting our first baby (a girl!) June 10th. We currently live just near Trondheim, and I'm looking for some English speaking mommies or mommies to be that would like to get together. Either now, or later in the summer. Either for chatting or trening.

I have not been here in a very long time, (I had to request my password) but I was just contacted by someone who found me through this site. It made me realize I should come check it out. So, I will cut and paste much of what I told her. I think (hope) this info will help you and many others NEW to Trondheim.

 

I do believe there may be a few Churches in English but one I rather enjoyed is in the city. Priscilla could easily tell you more about that and add you to the mailing list.

There was a playgroup from a group of mothers at the Norway group (Now a scandinavian group I see) at Babycenters.com:

but I am not sure they still meet up. I really need to look there and see myself.

 

There is also a Y.I.T group, aka Yanks in Trondheim.

You can add yourself to the list there and be updated about the meets the first friday of every month. This is open for anyone really. It is mainly Americans, but also has/had Canadians,New Zealanders and Australians.

 

Norwegians seem to stick to knowing their friends from school days and their children usually make up their own personal playgroups. There are MANY of americans here
