Anonym bruker Skrevet 4. september 2008 #1 Skrevet 4. september 2008 Hi everyone What are your experiences: GP v. Health Station? I'm thinking whether should I start going to the health station instead.
Sandida Skrevet 5. september 2008 #2 Skrevet 5. september 2008 Hi, I can recommend a health station (Helsestasjonen) if you live in Oslo try out Bydel Frogner. I have good experience with this one. Bye Sandra

Anonym bruker Skrevet 13. september 2008 #4 Skrevet 13. september 2008 I followed the ordinary scedule for controls, but i alternated between doctor and midwife (health station). I preferred the midwife, because she set up half an hour each time, and we talked about issues i wanted to discuss, for instance the labour situation... I went to frogner bydel too, and they were great. If your county does not have an opening for you, you are entiteled to get refund for going to another midwife. In some cities there is a shortage on midwifes, and if you can find one in private practise, that has a so-called driftsavtale with NAV, they will pay for your check ups there. You can try to google jordmor and your city/county and call the ones who appears, and ask if they have an arrangement with nav. The midwife usually encourages the husbands to join a few sessions. I found the appointments calming, and a good preparation for labour etc. Good luck, and try to find a private midwife that can accomodate you. ps sorry if the english is not up to standards here, i tried to hurry:)
star00 Skrevet 14. september 2008 #5 Skrevet 14. september 2008 Nonsense, your english is perfect! Thank you for your advice! Already having a routine headache/migraine for 4 weeks and all my doc told me was homones, and a urine test. I need more information!!! and whatmore, as a first time mother, would like to know and discuss more. Maybe what he said is the 'truth' but hey.... I still find my doc crap, sorry to say that. I dont find any of my appointment calming at all and since my 'fastlege' is never there for the past 5 mths, I was pushed around the 'vikar' for all my doc. appointment outside the control sessions. Will definately check out your options! Thank you!!
Gorgonvaktmester Skrevet 17. september 2008 #6 Skrevet 17. september 2008 You can also nag your fastlege (or the replacement) for a referral (henvisning) to a gynecological specialist (ob-gyn) or even to the prenatal ward at your closest hospital. You don't want constant headaches to be ignored, they might be a symptom of some complication in the pregnancy. (NOTE: I'm NOT a medical professional, I'm just channeling my wife's pregnancy paranoia. Get expert advice from professionals!)
Anonym bruker Skrevet 20. september 2008 #7 Skrevet 20. september 2008 one more thing, how often do all of you go for controls? once a month or do you all start at week 24 (after the initial confirmation control to say you are pregnant?) i felt really disconnected from my baby since we only get to see him once during ultrasound and have to wait ages for the 2nd control with fastlege. would love to hear his heartbeat more often.....
