There has been much speculation of the fifth season of the show, due to the many cliffhangers at the end of season four, such as the departure of Edie Britt, and Susan's new mystery man, played by Gale Harold. When asked about Sheridan's departure, Cherry commented 'She won't be back for a few years'. This may be a reference to the rumoured 'five year leap' that the show is undertaking. When questioned about this, and asked whether Sheridan is still part of the show, Cherry said 'I only address one rumor at a time. We'll have to wait until next season and see'. There has also been considerable speculation whether Mike Delfino will return, after the final scene in season four, which show Susan falling into another man's arms.
