anyone living in houston..?

we are considering moving to houston and work there (our company is opening an office there)..

would like to know how it is to work/live there.

we have a 3 months old boy.

To sum it up: HOT, HOTTER, HOTTEST! Be prepared for loooooooong and humid summers. There is a large Norwegian group in Houston (Sjomanns-kirken), and there is a large IKEA there (to buy food you will for sure miss), big culture shock if you have never lived in the US before..... If the job is only for 3-5 years I would do it, just to see some of the world if nothing else. Places to live: There is a place/suburb on the North side of Houston called "The Woodlands", really beautiful and extremly safe to live! You never really need to leave to get anything. Whatever you do: get a house with a swimmingpool, or move into a neighboorhood that has a communal swimmingpool you can use....if not you will DIE of a heatstroke the 1st summer.
