Can you buy American type 'boxsprings' in Norway?

Anbefalte innlegg

We have just moved to Norway from the US and are learning about the differences in beds. We thought we wanted a 'kontinental seng', which looked to me like it resembled what we used to have in the US. But, it turned out to be way to soft and my husband and I both got back pain from it, even though the mattress was supposed to be 'fast'....?

Now we realized the most ironic thing of all...the 'boxsprings' that we had under the mattress and over mattress in the US actually had no springs at all!!! It was just a frame to bring you up higher and give support to the real mattress. Here the kontinental mattress/kontinental ramme' also has springs (usually 'bonellfjærer'). This makes it double with springs and veeeery soft. We have been searching all over for an 'american' type boxsprings without springs, just the frames....any ideas??? We already have a 'fast' Jensen mattress 180x200 waiting for our 'boxsprings as soon as we can find them and get off the floor. Don't want to have to buy a whole bedframe right now. Heeeelp!

Thank you,

We've lived here for almost 4 years now and having an American boxspring is one thing we definitely miss. We haven't seen them at any stores or found anyone who's heard of them. Sorry... good luck... and please post it on here if you manage to find a store that sells them!!!

This is kind of funny for me to read. I live in California and miss everything about Norwegian beds. I brought back two "dyner", several "dynetrekk" that I change the look of every two weeks or so. I skipped the extra sheet to cover you with - "dyne" is so much better! And I hate how tall the boxsprings make the beds and have it sitting directly on the floor.... I love the feel of Norwegian beds and enjoy every minute I am in Norway spending time in a good bed with Norwegian "airy dyner".

Good luck to you finding what you are used to!!!

I guess what we get used to is hard to change. he he he

I am actually Norwegian, spent the first 20 years of my life here before I moved to the US. have now been in the US for 15 years before returning home to Norway. I don't know how long you have been in CA, but have you been to Linen's & Things, BedBath and Beyond, Maycy's, Bloomingdales + a lot of other places? Bc they all have 'dundyner' exactly the same ones as we have in Norway so i don't know why you brought them from Norway. You can also buy 'dynetrekk + putetrekk' isteden for den typiske vattdynen & flatsheet osv.
