We live in the US and also wanted a name that works in both languages so we've chosen Emmy for our little girl (coming this April :-)

I read in the paper recently that "Selma" was THE up and coming name in Oslo. :-)

What about Hannah, Maria, Linda or Kristin.

Nice names, easy to pronounce in both languages.

Lina Michelle

I also think Lydia, Julie, Ellen and Leah are beautiful names in both Norwegian and English.

Good luck!

Kate is NOT pronounced KEIT in American English! That is like how Norwegians call bacon "BEIKEN" when they are trying to be so Americanized- it just sounds stupid.

Kate is pronounced to rhyme with gate, straight, plate, etc.

our girls are called Charlotte and Christina. Not very original maybe, but they work very vell in both languages. Besides from them I like Emma, Johannah or just Hannah. There are lots of opportunities. You just have to find them! Good luck!
