When?

Hi,Im wondering when it`s ok to go out with the baby?And how old was your baby when you went out with h*n for the first time?

 

The thing is that my mother is saying that i have to wait for 2-3 weeks before i will go out with the baby :-((

Do i really have to wait for so long????

I would hear with the Helsestasjonen? I took my daughter out when she was a week old, my sister was out with her daughter when she was two days old.

My baby was 16 days the first time we took him out for a long walk. But that had more to do with ME than the baby. I was in bad shape after the birth and needed to regain strength before even considering leaving the house with the baby. (My first-born,so everything was new and a bit scary to me for a while..)

 

I've heard that it was common before to wait up to a month or six weeks before taking a new baby out. But I don't think that 'rule' applies anymore.. As long as the baby is sufficiently dressed I don't see any reason why you should stay in. The fresh air will do you both a world of good!

That depends on the weather, I guess. I was outside with Julie the day after she was borned, but only for a short walk. I was in bad shape but I needed fresh air and I took her with me, and my mum was with us to. But it was very warm that day, and no wind. You don't have to wait 2 - 3 weeks to go out, unless there is medical reasons for the baby to wait for so long. and, oh.. sorry for my bad english ;-)
