Gjest Skrevet 6. juli 2009 #2 Skrevet 6. juli 2009 British prices!! marmalade, marmite, branston pickle, heinz tomato soup, baxters soups, spices/spice mixes, ribena, proper tea (e.g. twinings, pg tips etc), better selection of herbal teas (e.g. London fruit and spice co, Hampstead tea), non-biological washing powder, kelloggs fruit n' nut, weetabix, butternut squash, mothercare (especially babygros), early learning centre, the gap (ok these last ones are whole shops, but really there is nothing like it here for children's things in quality, selection or price), lemonade, ground coffee that tastes good i.e. more italian/french style roasts), whole bean coffee, childrens books in english, cheddar & english cheeses, good quality meat (especially lamb), real bacon, children's dvds in english, flavoured crisps, biscuits, children's snacks e.g. organix, children's cereals and fruit yogurts without added sugar! That just off the top of my head...

*Little Miss Sunshine* Skrevet 18. juli 2009 #6 Skrevet 18. juli 2009 I'll answer eventhough I'm not British I lived in Scotland for 7 years and I miss: Blackcurrant'n'liqurice, appeltiser, kids snacks like organix (as said above), more cheddar cheeses (I can only find one, that I think is good), yeo vally yoghurts, different flavour Lindt chocolates (I know it's Swiss;), strongbow cider and a better selection of beer and ale, treacle toffee, good quality british sausages, better selection of fresh vegetables and meat like for an example butternut squash and duck meat, fresh made steak pies and sausagerolls from gregg's (might be a bit hard;), pecan nuts, smoked paprika,.... And lots of things that are not food and not easy to sell in a small shop here Childrens clothes from John Lewis, TK Maxx (I used to walk by one everytime I went to the shops, and it was always fun to have a look:), big bookshops like Waterstones and Borders, people who know how to queue and be polite and lots more that is really no help to you! Where are you planning on opening the shop? Oslo?

Fikkennydeliggutt08 Skrevet 23. juli 2009 #9 Skrevet 23. juli 2009 I can't wait for this shop to open. I really miss tea, but I have found a couple of shops that sell PG tips in huge bags! I even found pickle and marmite at ICA Maxi, Bjølsen. I really miss Cadbury's chocolate too, I haven't found it anywhere so that would be a good thing!
Fikkennydeliggutt08 Skrevet 23. juli 2009 #10 Skrevet 23. juli 2009 I forgot to add...Farley's Rusks! My son loved these when I was visiting family in England a few months back, but I only bought a few packets with me so I ran out pretty quick. Hearing all this is making me homesick!

Sorting out all that now, but everything looks set for beginning of December. To start with, we're gonna run it from a website, to see whether it is viable. If it is we will open a "proper" shop as well. We're located in Nannestad, but got friends with transport business that will deliver in the Oslo/Akershus area. And there's always the post for those of you who live further away. Building the website now, so will put it up when ready.

The kids love the yoghurt without any bits, like Tweenies. And I love the PG decaf tea (buying the reg from the immigrant shops in Norway) plus hot cross buns. Oh, we miss the UK so much.
