Anon99 Skrevet 20. februar 2009 #1 Skrevet 20. februar 2009 Hello Could anyone tell me the Norwegian translation for gripe water? My baby has colic and need to get my hands on some!
noggie Skrevet 22. februar 2009 #2 Skrevet 22. februar 2009 You can not get gripe water in Norway, but ammete ( you buy it at the farmacy) might help, Got the same problem my self. Found a recepie on the net for gripe water that you might try though; GRIPE WATER Crush1 tsp of fennel seeds. Pour 1 1/4 cups of boiling water over them and steep for 20 minutes.( Add some sugar when adding the water to make it more palatable). Strain and discard the seeds. Store in fridge, use as needed, warm or cold. For a small baby, dilute the infusion with 2 parts water to one part gripe water. It says its not recommended to use excessively because of the fennel. Haven't tried it myself yet so let me know if it works = ) Good luck

NormaJean Skrevet 24. februar 2009 #4 Skrevet 24. februar 2009 ask for minifom at the pharmacy. its drops that you give to your baby, i think its 10 drops before every feeding or something along those lines. also, try sugarwater. boil 1 deciliter of water add 1-2 tablespoons of sugar. stirr let it cool in the fridge and give about 2-3ml when needed. but warm it up to about 37-40 degrees C. (i just have use a syringe and hold it under warm, running tapwater. the sugarwater is ok in the fridge for about 42 hours.
