hemorrhoids! Help!

Yes, I'm going to ask about the nasty and uncomfortable "H" word :)

I'm in pain, I'm miserable, I'm desperate.

I know I had "H" before (when I was a teenager), but the last couples of weeks they have been back (I'm 35 weeks pregnant) and last night it was just unbearable .

Now it's not only when they "are out" that hurt, but inside too...it's like a burning feeling and "exploring" the area, it feels like the surface of "it" it's hurt or something.

I can't sit or even lie (nor on the side or on my back) without feeling this very intense pain.

I tried alcos-anal, xyloproct, vaseline and ice.

In the last week or two, I did have a couple of days feeling better again, but only for the pain to come back :(

Nor the fastlege or the jordmor seem to be too concerned in helping me ease the pain "oh yeah, hemorrhoids...they'll go away" but i really need help at this point

Is it true that warm baths are not recommended because they can trigger contractions? What are those amazing little secrets you have used and worked? Any advice or suggestion will be appreciated! I've been in SERIOUS pain for almost 24 hours now!

Thanks a lot!

Pau

HI there! I'm sorry to hear about your pain, i'm not sure if i can be at any help, but i'll give you the few tips that i have heard about. When you relax, try not to sit or recline to much, try to lay as flat as possible, so that the blood in the H can drain out of there. Of course not strait on your back, as the baby might press on the main artery in your tummy, and make you dizzy and give you headache. I see that you have tried some of the products that is recomended to treat H, with no effects, there is one more product that you can try, called Proctosedyl, it is not to diffrerent than xyloproct, only that the strenght is different, and a few of the ingrediants. Talk to the staff at the pharmacy and they might help you. there is one more product that is awailible called Rectogesic, but aparently it is not recomended to pregnant and breast feeding women. but the pharmacy will know for sure. This is not much, and i wish you the best for your H, and the birth that is in the near futute. One other thing, you should try to keep your motions/stool as soft as possible. it would be easier/not as painful to pass. Eat lots of fiber, green leafy vegitabels and drink loads of water, as much as you can (above 2liters a day if you can)

again good luck

Hello,

I had them after the birth of my first child and I got advised to have a warm shower and try to push them back in with warm soapy water also had some cream but can't remember what it was called. I found that having the warm (hot) water did actually ease the pain.

Anyway hope you feel better soon.

Yeah, that sounds nasty... I've been there too (although perhaps not as bad as what you describe). I tried out this ointment you get at Health Care shops (Helsekost) called Propolis 10%. Put some on every time you've been to the toilet and had a wash. It really works!

(Actually this stuff works for lots of things: nappy rash, acne, dry lips, excema - you name it).

Good luck.

I also got them after having my second child. He weighed almost 5 kilos, and I guess that's why....

Being pregnant again has brought them back. :-((

Anyway; my experience is that Scheriproct works better that Alcos Anal. First of all the tube is better (not as sharp) and second of all; the cream is softer and seems to work faster.

You get it at the pharmacy, probably next to Alcos Anal.

Good luck!
